The Delhi High Court's e-Committee has continued extending e-Courts infrastructure — digitised case records, online case-status tracking, and e-filing counters — to the district court complexes at Tis Hazari, Karkardooma, Saket, Dwarka, Rohini and Patiala House, reducing the number of matters that require an in-person registry visit purely to check listing status.
For practitioners appearing across multiple district complexes, the practical benefit is a single case-status lookup that works uniformly across all six district courts rather than complex-specific registers, along with SMS and app-based cause-list alerts.
The rollout has been uneven: digitisation of older case records is still catching up in several complexes, and lawyers report that pre-2015 case files are more likely to require a physical registry visit than recently filed matters.
The High Court has indicated that video-conferencing facilities for remote appearance, introduced widely during the pandemic, will remain available as a standing option rather than being scaled back, particularly for short mentioning and adjournment applications.
